Apparel Group’s British heritage brand Barbour and Brazilian fashion brand FARM Rio beautifully collide in a collaboration for AW25, blending quintessential British charm with bold prints and playful feminine features. The new collection features three exclusive prints across a collection of clothing, footwear, accessories and outerwear, fusing the beloved spirit of these two brands.
For over 150 years, Barbour has been a staple of the British countryside. Since its start in 1894, the brand has stayed true to its commitment of crafting quality, purposeful designs that are worn by everyone from royalty to rockstars, farmers to city slickers, now blending contemporary design with quintessential details from their rich Scottish heritage.
Brazilian brand FARM Rio started bringing vibrant, nature-infused prints into the world 27 years ago. Famous for their love of colour and a flair of ‘borogodó’ (that effortless Brazilian charm), they now bring their tropical romance, playful prints and joyful creativity to the British countryside.
Katia Barros, FARM Rio’s Co-founder and Creative Director comments, “This collaboration brings together FARM Rio and Barbour’s shared love of nature as its primary inspiration. The collection beautifully balances British heritage, evident in classic silhouettes and timeless patterns, with the wild beauty of Brazil, expressed through bold colour combinations, spirited motifs and complementary deka//s like embroidered patches on tailored outerwear. We believe the final product beautifully captures and translates the spirit of both brands, telling a story of tropical romance.”
Shot in the beautiful English landscape and quaint villages of the Cotswolds on British model and actress lmogen Waterhouse, illustrative cues from Brazil’s tropical world appear in surreal and intriguing ways for British charm with Brazilian soul.
British lifestyle brand Barbour brings its trusted design features and heritage fabrics to this collection, while FARM Rio unleashes bright tropical prints and expressive design features, for a whole new world of wild-spirited dressing. Three exclusive prints have been created for the collection, blending FARM Rio’s recognisable love of colour and nature with Barbour’s olive palette and signature family tartans.
THE PINK TARTAN
The Pink Tartan Print reimagines Barbour’s famous Scottish-heritage tartans through FARM Rio’s signature art of printmaking. From the background, designed to evoke the rich texture of woven family tartans, to the embroidered pineapple embellishments layered on top, every detail feels extraordinary.
THE TROPICAL PRINT
As the collaboration’s most emblematic print, The Tropical Print updates a classic scarf design with intricate borders and details, highlighting FARM Rio’s tropical aesthetic. The Brazilian jaguar and pineapple crown celebrate two of the rainforest’s most iconic symbols, perfectly contrasting with the soft, feminine touch of delicate florals. It’s finished with the soothing green and pink palette that runs throughout the collection.
THE PINEAPPLE PRINT
The Pineapple Print graces the collection as the defining all-over pattern, featuring the fruit’s crown as a luxurious tropical icon. The ornamental design is elevated by its sophisticated colourway, blending rich golden tones with deeper forest greens.
Nicola Brown, Barbour’s Director of Womenswear comments, “This is a collaboration in every sense of the word, with the most-loved features that encapsulate the spirit of each brand fused together to create a full collection with irresistible character. We are so excited to see this collection launch and for the beautiful prints to be worn and enjoyed.”
Barbour x FARM Rio for AW25 invites wearers into a world where classic countryside meets playful femininity.
